'Paolo the Happy Polar Bear' was my first picture book as an author, illustrator and book designer. It is a zen like fable about a lovable polar bear who works in an office accounting for fish stocks but it is making artful snow castles that he enjoys the most. He enters into a grand competition but faces some challenges on the day, so what does he do when things don't go according to plan? This is a story about choosing joy of creativity. Painted in watercolours, pen and ink the book creates a wonderful connection between the reader and Paolo.
